Strabismus treatment addresses a condition in which the eyes aren't properly aligned, causing them to point in different directions, and while it's most often diagnosed in childhood, treatment ranges from glasses to surgery depending on the type and severity involved.
Types of Strabismus
- Esotropia: One or both eyes turn inward, toward the nose.
- Exotropia: One or both eyes turn outward, away from the nose.
- Hypertropia and Hypotropia: One eye is misaligned vertically, either turning upward or downward relative to the other.
